VISUAL Consciousness

THE DIGITAL IMAGE

is our program to help you stay grounded, informed, and self-directed in a digital world designed to distract.

We are organising a series of workshops, each paired with a film, that will equip you with tools and insights for digital mindfulness and critical engagement with media and film.

Through media literacy we examine the role of visual narratives in shaping collective and personal consciousness.

We will explore how self-development is formed in the age of mis-information and social media. Giving you insights on dopamine addiction, the psychological impact of social media and how to reclaim your cognitive autonomy. We’ll also dissect the daily news cycle, uncovering the mechanics of misinformation and bias, so you can navigate media with clarity instead of confusion.

Beyond news and social media, THE DIGITAL IMAGE workshop series will examine film and television’s role in shaping our perceptions, particularly regarding gender-based violence and Hollywood’s global influence. What are their influence on your perception, identity, and social values? How do these narratives reinforce power structures, and how can we recognize, challenge, and rewrite them?

Dates to be announced.
